Salvation.
Read the following passages and then consider the questions at the end.
In John 3:16 (CSB), Jesus said, "For God loved the world in this way: He gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life."
Note: Many translations print Jesus' words in red so we'll do that here too.
Ephesians 2:8-10 (CSB), "For you are saved by grace through faith, and this is not from yourselves; it is God’s gift — 9 not from works, so that no one can boast. 10 For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared ahead of time for us to do."
Romans 3:23 (CSB), "For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God."
Romans 6:23 (CSB), "For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord."
Romans 5:8 (CSB), "But God proves his own love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us."
Romans 10:9 (CSB), "If you confess with your mouth, 'Jesus is Lord,' and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved."
Have you surrendered your life to Christ through faith? If not, do that right now through prayer.
You could pray something like this, "Jesus, I believe that you are who you say you are, that you died on the cross for my sins, and that you rose again to guarantee me eternal life. Today I put my faith in you and confess you as Savior and Lord."
If you have surrendered your life to Christ through prayer, you are God’s child! Salvation comes by grace, through faith, and not by works.
