Walking in God’s grace
Read the following passages and then consider the questions at the end.
In Luke 4:18-19 (CSB), Jesus said, "The Spirit of the Lord is on me, because he has anointed me to preach good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim release to the captives and recovery of sight to the blind, to set free the oppressed, 19 to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor."
Romans 5:1-2 (CSB), "Therefore, since we have been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ. 2 We have also obtained access through him by faith into this grace in which we stand, and we boast in the hope of the glory of God."
2 Corinthians 12:9, "But he said to me,“My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is perfected in weakness.” Therefore, I will most gladly boast all the more about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may reside in me."
Ephesians 2:8-10, "For you are saved by grace through faith, and this is not from yourselves; it is God’s gift — 9 not from works, so that no one can boast. 10 For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared ahead of time for us to do."
2 Timothy 2:1 (CSB), "You, therefore, my son, be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus."
God's grace is His goodness to us even though we have done nothing to deserve that. Now, as His children, we can live anticipating the goodness and providence of God! Sometimes that will look different than we expect but we can be sure that He is working in every situation in our lives for the good (Romans 8:28).
